HELLO EVERYONE

I have been absent since July, but haven't given up on At My Soiree. Many things contributed  to my temporary hiatus. I have returned to the classroom after a long absence - sabbatical and two sick leaves for hip replacement and am finding it a struggle. My husband and I have both announced our retirement for the end of December (I'm trying not to count down, but am doing so anyway!). Am also nursing a sick cat through what is likely her last weeks, so feel kind of blue.

I just haven't had anything to say; it's too true that writing generates ideas. Mostly, I haven't been keeping up with your blogs either.

Earlier, I was planning a more substantial post to say hello, but we have spent the day without water as we were having a plumbing problem fixed. C'est la vie.

I will be back, I hope before the New Year. Thanks to everyone who has stuck around.

Good to see you again. I am sorry that going back to work is not working, I'm sorry that didn't work out.

I am truly sorry about your cat! That can be so hard. I have 2 dogs and I know how badly I'd feel if I lost either one it would devastate me. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Take care and cannot wait to hear from you again.

Sorry to hear you’re going through some tough times at the moment.

I hope all goes well for you on your journey, and look forward to seeing more of your posts in the months ahead. Your site is a sort of “wreathed trellis of a working brain”. You’re too expressive and too articulate to remain silent. All the best.

It's good to have you back, Chris. I'm sure you and your husband will enjoy retirement.

I've found -- partially from my own neglect -- that you have to keep moving physically.

But blogging has also become part of my daily routine. I'm sure you'll get back into a rhythm before long.

Thank you for the great encouragement. I feel better already!

Owen,

You're right about a daily routine. When I was posting every day, it wasn't a chore - but let it go...

Exercise, yes! Even when I don't make time for it, I know that I should.

Well, I LOVE lobster, but seeing it every day was getting a little boring! Glad you're coming back to us!!!

Judie,

Ah, a meta post - exactly that everyone gets tired even of lobster.

Thanks for being there.

Lots of transitions. And more incoming. Good to hear from you. Having lost our cat a couple years ago, know that slow troubling time well.

Pearl,

Yes, it is a time of transition.

Unfortunately, we lost kitty yesterday and it is very sad.

aw, that's hard. (hugs)
